7 smart ways to save even more at Walmart
Special thanks to our guest blogger, Ashley Bronwell from I Don’t Have Time For That!
Like it or not, Walmart has some of the absolute lowest prices around. But, that doesn’t mean you should stop looking for alternative ways to save and just assume you are getting the best deal. You might be surprised to see how low you can really get your total when you combine these low prices with coupons, apps, and a little savvy thinking!
Here are 7 smart ways to save even more at Walmart.
1. Use Coupons.
This one might seem like a no brainier for saving money at any grocery store, not just Walmart! I know sometimes it can be overwhelming to try to figure out where to start with coupons, but there are a ton of resources available online. You can find websites such as I Heart the Mart dedicated to couponing at Walmart. Sites like this have what are called coupon match-ups that tell you exactly what coupon you need and where to find it, streamlining the whole couponing process.
2. Combine rebate app offers to save even more!
You know that cell phone your carry around with you 24/7…it’s time to put it to good use! Downloading apps such as ShopAtHome.com, Checkout 51, and Mobisave can help you not only save money on things that rarely have coupons (like milk, eggs, and produce), but can actually turn your purchases into moneymakers! Be sure to check your apps often, you may even be able to snag 100% cash back rebates making for FREE items without ever even clipping a coupon!
3. Check prices online before you shop.
It may be surprising, but sometimes Walmart.com actually beats their own in-store prices! Before you make a purchase in your local Walmart be sure to check out online competitors (and even Walmart.com)
4.Take advantage of FREE shipping.
Love online shopping as much as I do? Great news you can get free shipping on almost anything from Walmart.com when you select in-store pick up. Also, Walmart just recently launched their new $49 Shipping Pass Pilot. This services (similar to Amazon Prime) allows you to get free 2-day shipping with no minimum purchases as well as free returns in-store or online.
5. Use ShopAtHome.com to earn Cash Back on your online purchases.
So you shopped around, compared prices, and know you’re getting the absolute best deal, how could you save even more? How about getting Cash Back on the purchase you’re already buying! Using a cashback site such as ShopAtHome.com is a great way to earn money just for shopping. After figuring in cashback, you can bring your rock bottom price down even lower!
6. Get a price adjustment.
Don’t you hate buying something just to see it go on sale the very next week? Me too! Make sure to keep your receipt for at least a week after your purchase. At Walmart, you can get a price adjustment at customer service (with your receipt) within 7 days of purchase.
7. Download Walmart’s Savings Catcher and Paribus to make sure you don’t miss a dime.
We are all human, we cannot possible catch ever single deal going on. That’s where Walmart’s Savings Catcher and Paribus come in. Upload your receipt after every Walmart transaction (up to 7 receipts per week) to Savings Catcher and it will automatically check that you received the best price available on every product you purchased. Paribus works in a similar way. Paribus continually scans your emails for receipts from online purchases. When it finds one, it instantly starts looking for price drops. When it discovers one, it emails the retailer and has the money refunded to whatever method of payment you used. It’s all automatic; you do nothing.
