Belle in Boots blogger talks wedding plans, CrossFit and shopping
We love ourselves some cowboy boots, and that’s why we are excited to introduce you to Meredith Loflin and her lifestyle blog, Belle in Boots. As a bride to be, a new homeowner and a fur mama to Pearl, her blog tracks her adventures and gives readers a feeling that they are catching up with a good friend. Meet Meredith …
Where I’m based: Charlotte, N.C.
How long I’ve been blogging: Seven months
Blog/business basics: Belle in Boots is a lifestyle blog. Once in a while I throw out a good recipe, cute outfit or moment of crafting genius! Right now, there’s a lot about weddings, but expect to see a lot about decorating our new house soon.
Guilty pleasure: Chocolate chip cookie dough milkshakes from the local ice cream shop. They are amazing and once the milkshake is finished there are chunks of cookie dough at the bottom. Yummm!
Last thing I bought: A pair of Reebox YourFlex Trainette 3.0 shoes for CrossFit.
What are your favorite places to shop? T.J. Maxx, boutiques, consignment shops and Target.
How is wedding planning going? Wedding planning is slow and steady. The big ticket items are taken care of: photographer, dress, church, pastor, food, cake, attendants’ outfits (I do need to have the groomsmen fitted), save-the-dates are going out shortly and we’re going to start working on printing our invitations. We’re still trying to decide on a honeymoon location.
What’s your go-to accessory? Besides my shiny engagement ring, a statement necklace can do no wrong, especially when most of my outfits are solids or basic designs. A statement necklace really livens them up.
How did you get into CrossFit? Brandon and I had been wanting to give it a shot for a while, but it’s rather expensive to join a box (CrossFit lingo for the exercise space). We came across a Living Social deal for a box just down the road and decided it was time to try it out, and, if we hated it, we wouldn’t be out too much money. We instantly loved it; we’ve been going about two and a half months and we plan to keep it up. Every class is a challenge and I’m always working to get better or lift more.
If you could only fit either a pair or heels or boots in your suitcase, which would you choose? Can I wear my boots and pack my heels? This is a tough one. I love my cowboy boots; the blog is appropriately named Belle in Boots. But the right pair of heels can you give all the confidence. Like I said, for me it’s a hard choice — I’m even wearing both on my wedding day!
