We’re expecting bright, geometric tribal prints to be the “it” pattern of spring 2014/summer 2014. You hear that florals? (We still love you, though).
The bright, geometric pattern is popping up all over the place this season — on maxi dresses, crop tops, T-shirts, and, our personal favorite, mini skirts. We think tribal prints play best with neutral pairings — like cognac peep-toe booties and army green skinny cargos. If you’re more daring with your wardrobe, you might be able to get away with try mixing tribal print apparel with accessories (a little strategic clashing never hurt nobody).
Here’s a a few of our fave ways to wear spring’s hot new pattern. We’ve shopped these looks from Piperlime, where you’ll earn 6 percent Cash Back on designer finds! (Shopping tip: Celeb fashionistas like Olivia Palermo are guest editors at Piperlime, showing off their spring picks. Palermo dishes that she’s especially partial to estate jewelery and perforated leather this spring).
- Pattern play with Amour Vert: Buy a T-shirt from this eco-friendly designer and they’ll plant a tree. (How’s that for an Earth day way to shop?). Their spring line has incorporated lots of gorgeous spring trends — including embroidery and beading. They’re also showing us how to pattern mix with tribal prints. Check out this look (pictured): A breezy, sorbet palm print shirt worn with sherry Ikat print shorts. The trick to pairing these two gorgeous prints is keeping a cohesive color and letting one print be more dominant (in this case the shorts).
- Mara Hoffman dress: This dress embodies all of our favorite summery elements — Bright, bold pops of warm and cool colors and geometric shapes add dimension. Pair with a denim jacket and some miminalist flat sandals to keep the focus on the playful dress.
- Wear the pattern on your purse: Instant outfit idea: Dark denim, your favorite white T-shirt paired with a gorgeous pattern pop on a purse. We scouted a gorgeous, tribal-inspired purses in colors perfect for summer. Meet the Rebecca Minkoff Moby crossbody.
