3 holiday dresses that are good for travel
By Aimee Heckel
This season is one of the busiest times of year for travel. In fact, 51 percent of people planned on traveling more than 500 miles in December, according to a survey by HomeAway.com.
If you are one of the many December travelers, chances are you’ll also be looking for a nice holiday outfit, whether for Christmas, midnight mass, New Year’s Eve or a holiday party.
Here are some of our favorite fashionable holiday dresses that also travel well. No need to sweat over the ironing board on your vacation.
1. Get lacy
Lace is one of the great, fancy fabrics that is hard to wrinkle — and even when it does a little bit, it’s not as noticeable as other dresses. This Marina Cap-Sleeved lace dress in gunmetal (our personal fave color; accent it with cherry red beads around your neck and matching pumps) is currently marked down from $129 to only $99.99 at Macy’s.
2. Cozy up to a sweater dress
A sweater dress is perfect for a chilly winter day and for a slightly more casual occasion, like a nice dinner or a holiday party. Here’s a cozy and fashionable three-quarters-length-sleeve sweater dress with a belt, in a chunky black and white knit, marked way down to only $32.99 at Macy’s. Perfect if you’re on a budget and seeking comfort first.

3. Sparkle with sequins
What’s more festive than sequins? Nothing. And guess what — sequins don’t wrinkle. We are madly in love with this cream sequin and tulle dress, on sale for $49.99 at Macy’s. Everything about this dress is perfect for New Year’s Eve.
Bonus: For the guys
We love this wrinkle-resistant black Geoffrey Beene button-up at Macy’s, regularly $52.50, but marked down to only $26.25 right now. This shirt comes in six colors, and is made with a low-maintenance subtle sateen finish.
