3 best jogging strollers for moms who don’t want to slow down
No doubt, many things change when you have kids. You find yourself eating mac and cheese for dinner three nights a week. You hide in the closet to indulge in M&Ms. Suddenly, those late nights on the town sound more like punishment than fun.
But you don’t have to lose all aspects of your former self. Many moms continue to choose to run — as a stress reliever, as a way to get back into shape after being pregnant, as a model of health for their families and as a way to stay fit enough to keep up with their kids.
Here are some of our favorite jogging strollers for moms who don’t want to slow down:
1. Parenting.com recommends the Bob Revolution 12″ AW (aluminum wheels), $379, for a swiveling front wheel and a bump-free jog. Find stores at bobgear.com, or find Bob strollers at REI.
2. Phil & Ted’s Mountain Buggy Terrain jogging stroller. When picking a jogging stroller, Phil & Ted’s recommends looking for the following features:
- A swivel or locking front wheel
- Adjustable handle height
- A good handbrake
The Mountain Buggy has all of those features and more, including a specially engineered function that allows you to easily pop the front wheel over curbs when you’re running through the city.
Find the Mountain Buggy Terrain at Target for $499.99.
3. For a more affordable stroller, BabyGearLab put the Schwinn Free Runner in the top five of its favorite jogging strollers. At about $170, this stroller is still lightweight and features a fixed front wheel and adjustable handlebar. However, it’s not as easy to maneuver as some of the more expensive strollers, and the baby’s seat is not very cushioned, the review found.

Note: BabyGearLab recommends not putting your baby in a jogging stroller too soon. Make sure he or she has developed strong enough neck and core muscles first.
