Summer 2014 fashion is in full effect. Here’s what’s trending this season and how you can save big bucks on the best summer looks. We’ve shopped these looks at Nordstrom, where you’ll earn up to 14 percent Cash Back from ShopAtHome.com!
- Breezy kimonos. Love layering? You can still pull off layered looks in hot months with breezy, barely-there kimonos that are like airy cardigans. Trade out your heavier knits and blazers for the Bohemian-inspired kimonos that can be tossed over lightweight tanks and tees. This Robin K Lace Trim Festival Jacket ($38) is a lightweight, gauzy layering piece or opt for a moody purple print with this Band of Gypsies Print Kimono ($38).
- Global glam. It’s become so popular, Nordstrom even has curated a shopping section dedicated to pieces with worldly patterns and prints that look like they were inspired by international adventures. A stand-out splurge piece in the collection is a Diane von Furstenberg ‘New Julian 2 – Desert Band Silk Jersey Wrap Dress’ for $365 with ikat blue pattern-mixed with a ‘desert band’ skirt. Some budget-friendly, global-inspired picks include ikat shorts in blue and white for $42.50 and a Diamond Print Crepe V-neck shift dress (pictured) that has a stained glass effect.
- Rompers. We’re loving one pieces because they make getting dressed in the summer a no-brainer and are perfect for weekend jaunts to the beach or the farmer’s market. The dee elle Stripe Scoop Back Romper has a scooped back neckline and darling stripes ($38).
- Palazzo pants. Lightweight, wide-leg pants are making a major statement this summer and they’ve become the favorite trouser of stars like Kourtney Kardashian and Charlize Theron. Balance them out with a crop top or fitted tank for an effortless summer look. The Element ‘Existence’ Print Palazzo Pants ($49.50) from Nordstrom are whimsical and incorporate beach prints perfect for summer.
