5 area rugs to warm up any room
It’s bad news for warm-weather fans: The cool autumn air means a deep freeze is on its way. And while you can put on layers of sweaters and curl up under throw blankets, your feet still feel the chill, right through your socks.
If you’re not fond of footwear in the house and you have hardwood or tile floors, it’s time to warm the place up a bit. Invest in a few nice area rugs that will go a long way toward making those toes happy. In addition, you’ll add visual warmth to the room.
A rug will also serve to tie together the elements of a room, and make the space look cozy. Remember the “all on or all off” rule. If the rug is big enough, your furniture, including couches and chairs, should rest on it. Smaller area rugs should stand alone. With the exception of a coffee table, keep chairs and other furniture off a smaller rug.
