Lose weight, get more organized, eat healthier meals. Sound like your list of resolutions? Sure, they are admirable. But why not throw some fun ones in the mix to make 2014 your most fabulous year yet when it comes to beauty and style?
Here’s four fashion and beauty resolutions — that are fun and will encourage you to love yourself the way you are.
- Stop caring about size and focus on fit. Next time you try on a pair of jeans, challenge yourself to this fitting-room strategy: Grab the size you think you wear, one size bigger and one size smaller. When you head into the fitting room, don’t look at the sizes and just opt for the best fit. Vanity sizing has confused us all to what size we actually wear. But one thing that remains the same — a good fit is always the most flattering.
- Invest in one really great party dress. If you make one closet investment this year, consider buying a dress that makes you feel great. That way, you’ll always have something to wear when you’re invited for a girlfriend’s night out, a date, a party, a wedding — you name it. We found some great dresses under $40 at 6 p.m. — including this red London Times Cap Sleeve dropwaist dress (pictured) for $34.99 or this one-piece cascade ruffle sheath dress for $39.99.
- Treat yourself to some new workout gear. Toss the oversized team T-shirts that you’ve been wearing since college and get some workout clothes that are more fitted. That way you’ll be able to better see your silhouette when you’re doing workout classes like yoga or strength training.
- Let the Internet help you pick out your outfit. Start an inspiration board on Pinterest, follow the Online Shopping Report for latest trends and bookmark some style blogs that you love.
