5 kitchen gadgets that really cook
By Andrew Koziara
Need some help around the kitchen? Let Walmart be your guide. Here are five kitchen gadgets we can’t wait use.
Let’s start out simple. It’s always important to have some decent cutlery on hand, but maybe chopping things just isn’t in your forte. Maybe you have clumsy fingers, or you lack finesse with a blade. If you need some help in the kitchen, you could probably use something like the Ninja Express Chopper. It uses patented Ninja Blade technology, and it’ll chop up just about anything.
If you’re grilling burgers, steaks, bacon or poultry, one way to make sure you cook things evenly and thoroughly is with the Lodge Logic Grill Press. A spatula just doesn’t give you the weight or leverage you need to really press things down and this shines in that regard.
Are you more of a veggie person? Or maybe you just want a delicious salad to go with that steak! The Progressive International Collapsible Salad Spinner will toss your salad and keep the leaves dry. It’s pretty sizable, but also collapses down to waste less space when you’re done.
This next item is going to seem decidedly low tech, but in terms of saving you trouble on clean-up, and even helping prevent a bit of pain, a simple splatter screen is a lifesaver. That’s especially true if you cook with a lot of butter/oil, or greasy items like the aforementioned bacon. And while we’re on the subject of low-tech versus space age gadgetry, this next item is a little bit of both. As seen on TV, the One Glove Hot Surface Handler is pretty neat. Five fingered so that you have some flexibility and control, with an outer layer of Kevlar and Nomex, you can handle heat up to 540 degrees with these bad boys.
