3 adorable ideas for baby photos
By Aimee Heckel
Move over, Anne Geddes. Today’s photographers are more creative than ever.
Here are three of our favorite creative ideas for baby photos, whether you’re a professional photographer or just a regular mom looking to capture your child’s special moments.
1. Turn nap time into a fantasy wonderland. Posing babies can be challenging; posing angry cats can often be easier.
We love what this mom, Queenie Liao, did by setting up beautiful scenes around her sleeping baby and documenting it. It’s almost like peering into the baby’s dreams. He’s “flying” on a trapeze. Painting. Swinging through the jungle. All while napping on the floor.
Do this yourself by creating a plan and then gathering the supplies in advance. When you’re sure your little guy’s down for a solid snooze, set it up quickly. Or set it up in advance and lie him down on just the right spot.

2. Track the months with a special outfit or sticker. We love the idea of buying a beautiful dress in size 1 and putting it on your little doll every month, while she sits in the same location. Watch as she grows into the dress, until it fits her on her first birthday.
You could also try this with shoes (over a longer period of time), a hat (imagine a Santa hat if you have a December baby), a tutu, a tie for a little boy or a swimming suit for your little Libra.
Or pick up onesies and these month-by-month stickers to mark the age. These cute stickers are $14.95 for all 12. Pick them up at Amazon.com. Save money on your Amazon purchase with these coupons, and read more articles about saving money at Amazon.com here.
3. Use balloons or another object to represent age. This is a more subtle idea than writing the age on a chalkboard or dry-erase board.
