Sincerely, Truly Scrumptious blogger shows us how to be hippy-chic
We came across Alyssa Edwards of Sincerely, Truly Scrumptious, and we all found ourselves green with envy. Her bold, hippy-chic style reflects Kate Hudson’s character from Almost Famous paired with Carrie Bradshaw from Sex in the City and we can’t get enough. Meet Alyssa …
Where I’m based: Mesa, Ariz.
How long I’ve been blogging: I actually started my blog right when I graduated high school in 2010. I wrote for a while but really started becoming passionate about it, writing on it at least 5-6 times a week, about a year and a half ago.
Blog/business basics: Basically, my blog contains fashion/style tips and tricks, my daily outfits, DIY’s, beauty and other random odds and ends that I find interesting.
Other blogs I love: I have a ton of blogs I read that inspire me such as Karla’s Closet, Cupcakes and Cashmere, Ascot Friday, Coast To Coast Challenge, Kayla O’Rourke, The Rancher’s Daughter, Kelly Murray, and tons more! I could go on for hours. I get the most inspiration from looking at other blogs. I also really love YouTube as well.
Guilty pleasure: I may have the biggest sweet tooth of all time. I may or may not have to have a little treat every night before bed, then my craving is satisfied.
Last thing I bought: The last fashion-related thing I bought that was lace trim. I can’t wait to DIY some cut-offs for summer.
How would you define your style? I would say my style is boho chic/rocker/feminine. I love to change up my style but I feel most myself when I have a little bit of everything.
Does living in Arizona influence your wardrobe? I definitely think living in Arizona influences my wardrobe, especially in the summer. Anything bohemian, flowy, turquoise jewelry, fringe bags, boots etc. Could I be sounding any more western right now? You can’t forget layers and layers of bracelets for your arm party.
How do you get your inspiration for the jewelry that you make? I get inspiration honestly, everywhere! It might sound cliché but I only make jewelry that I know I would wear, would want to wear, all the time. One of my favorite pieces is my ancient coin necklace. Every coin I use is different, unique and the stone right in the middle adds the perfect touch. It’s definitely a staple in my wardrobe right now.
What current trend are you rocking out? I have been loving a bunch of trends lately — camo, wedge sneakers, peplum, floral crowns, and turbans — just to name a few.
We are totally obsessed with your turbans, can you tell us how to do that? You guys are too sweet! I love going “out of the box” when it comes to my style so when I saw this turban trend I knew I had to take a stab at it. I grabbed one of my mom’s vintage silk scarfs and tried it out. I did a video tutorial on my blog. It is super simple and this look is perfect for summer.
