Best 2012 Black Friday fashion deals
Good news: Santa said you’re on his “nice list” this year and, for that, you get to buy yourself some gifts while out Black Friday shopping. If you feel guilty shopping for yourself during the holiday season, just consider it taking home a souvenir from the mall. Or, look at it from an economic standpoint. There are some great fashion deals to be had on Black Friday for you and your family.
Ninety percent of consumers surveyed said that they planned to shop for themselves or for their families rather than holiday gifts for others, according to a 2011 report from the International Council of Shopping Centers.
Black Friday is prime time to stock up on basics.
Sort through your drawers and toss worn-out T-shirts that have lost their shape, your tights that have snags and your bras that would no longer win a “best supporting” role. These worn-out wardrobe essentials will never know you were coming for them. They were expecting you in January when you renew your vows to be more organized.
Kohl’s Black Friday ad makes promises of $15.99 bras, $5.99 Apt. 9 tights in varying colors and $4.99 junior’s tanks and T-shirts.
For men, Macy’s has $9.99 Calvin Klein boxers, $29.99 Alfani dress shoes and $19.99 designer ties.
Get your family ready for the winter weather with Black Friday deals.
Old Navy is advertising $15 kids’ coats and $19 adult coats. Kohl’s will be marking men’s cold-weather accessories down 60 percent. Target will be offering $3 hat and glove sets for kiddos. Puffer jackets will be going for $16.99 at Macy’s.
At Kohl’s, this beret from the Lauren Conrad collection is a chic way to keep your noggin’ warm. It comes in a “hollyberry” red hue. Or, a crème “vanilla ice” color. (Sorry if the “Ice, ice baby” lyrics are now stuck lip-syncing in your head for the rest of the day.) And, bonus, the beret is a “Kohl’s Cares accessory,” meaning that 100 percent of the net profits will go to fight breast cancer. Yet, another bonus? It has sequin accents which will give you a subtle twinkle.
Shop for kid’s clothes so that they’re ready for holiday parties and family photos.
Retailers are offering deep discounts on children’s clothes leading up to the holidays, including festive girls’ dresses at Macy’s and boots for toddlers and girls at Old Navy. Target will have cozy fleece crew shirts and pants for boys for $5 and tu-tu’s for $3 for infant and toddler girls. Too-too cute.
