Best summer 2013 music anthems: From Miley to Macklemore
By Lesley Kennedy
OK, we can’t lie. Ask us to name the all-time best summer anthems, and you can probably guess our age bracket pretty easily. Bananarama’s Cruel Summer, circa 1983; Katrina and the Waves’ Walking on Sunshine, circa 1985; Summer Nights from Grease, circa (gulp) 1978.
We may be middle aged, but we ain’t dead yet.
So, in the interest of staying current, for summer 2013, we’re downloading “The Soundtrack to Your Summer: 2013 Edition” from streaming music service Rdio. From Miley Cyrus to Justin Timerberlake to Blake Shelton, it includes all sorts of genres (and a lot of artists we’ve never even heard of yet). But don’t worry, we’ll still have the Grease soundtrack on standby. (Find Rdio coupon and Cash Back deals here.)
