Brutal winter storms lead to sold-out hotels in warm destinations
By Aimee Heckel
Nika, go away. Seriously, stop being a bully.
Winter Storm Nika is clearly trying to freeze us all out, dumping endless buckets of snow and ice from the Rockies to the Northeast. And that’s not all. Nika joins 13 other storms big enough to name during this brutal winter in the states, according to The Weather Channel.
This seems like a losing battle. A rash of residents sick of having frozen toes have been booking vacations to warmer climates this month — so many people, in fact, that there’s a shortage of rooms available in warmer regions, according to a recent report by BookIt.com. Hotels in Cancun, Hawaii, Bahamas, Riviera Maya and the Dominican Republic, to name a few, are nearing sold-out status, BookIt says.
Sick of wearing wool socks? Here are a few of the best warm vacations still available through BookIt.com.
