Celebrities share their kids’ Halloween costume plans
Cue the dry ice, spooky lighting and creepy noises: Halloween is next week, and if you haven’t started decorating, planning costumes or baking treats, you may just be in need of a little inspiration.
Celebrity Baby Scoop has the inside dish on how Hollywood families celebrate the holiday — from costumes to DIY craft projects. Here are few of note:
Heidi Klum: “We go all out decorating our house,” the model and Project Runway host tells the website. “There are spider webs and skeletons and pumpkins in every corner. They have picked out their costumes already but we like to keep them secret.”
Sherri Shepherd: The View co-host Sherri Shepherd tells Celebrity Baby Scoop she dresses up with her son, Jeffrey, 8. “Jeffrey is going to be a wrestler,” she tells the website. “He wants mommy to be a wrestler too, but I said to him, ‘Jeffrey, have you seen the outfits that the wrestler women wear? I might as well pose for Playboy!’ How do you explain to your son, ‘Mommy can’t wear certain outfits because she has a muffin top and a C-section scar’ [laughs].”
Marissa Jaret Winokur: “This year, (her 5-year-old son) Zev is going to be a zombie basketball player,” the actress tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “I am going to take his basketball uniform from last year that he can no longer wear (because he is on a new team) and put red paint all over it. That is what my son wants to be!”
Tori Spelling: The mom of four is a lover of all things DIY. “We love decorating, so we always go all out,” the actress tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “We DIY everything in our family and we make our own costumes every year. … Liam and Stella challenged me this year. They wanted to be zombies, so they are going to be ballerina and Boy Scout zombies. I get to make those costumes and do great zombie make-up, so I’m really excited!”
Brooke Burke-Charvet: The Dancing With the Stars co-host, and mom of four tells Celebrity Baby Scoop the family is in decorating mode. “Shaya wants to be a ninja, Rain wants to be a vampire, Neriah will be Minnie Mouse and Sierra has a handmade Sponge Bob costume, and of course it’ll all probably change the day before.”
Lisa Ling: The TV journalist tells the website she hasn’t decided what her daughter, Jett, will be for her first Halloween yet. “My husband and I were just talking about what we are going to dress Jett up as,” she tells Celebrity Baby Scoop. “Let’s just put it this way – it won’t be anything sexy [laughs]. I live in Santa Monica and trick-or-treating is a big deal in that area. I will definitely take her out around the community and neighborhood.”
