Cute and comfy outfits for road trips
The ideal outfit for a road warrior should be comfortable like pajamas but cute like weekend wear in case somebody in your caravan starts snapping Instagram photos. If you’re going on a road trip, heed some of our advice to keep you cute and comfortable and feeling fresh while confined to the car.
Pack a small tote that’s easily accessible: Load it with travel-sized accessories from CVS, like toothpaste and a mini Colgate toothbrush, deodorant and face lotion so you can freshen up at rest stops. One of our favorite tricks is to use a dry shampoo from Sephora to stave off the greasy-hair look. Keep your tote accessible so you don’t have to dig through your trunk to find it. If you have room in it, tuck in your e-reader and some Mad Libs from Barnes & Noble and fashion magazines to keep you entertained.
Pair a sweatshirt with sweatpants: If you’re going to be in the car for a long time, opt for comfort with soft sweatshirts and sweatpants. You don’t have to sacrifice style as stores have lots of cute lounge wear options. Check out Old Navy for a light-weight terry lounge hoodie or Victoria’s Secret for a half-zip hoodie from their Pink line or a popover sweatshirt from Aerie.
Wear a comfortable loose-fitting dress: Making stops along your road trip? Be ready with an effortless look with a cotton or knit dress. If it’s chilly, pair one with leggings. We like this preppy-nautical Harbor jersey striped dress from Gap.
Pack sunglasses and a baseball hat: These are quintessential roadtrip accessories. Retro cat-eye shades are flashing into style this spring. Want in on the trend but don’t want to splurge? Here’s a basic black pair from Charlotte Russe for $5.99 — or get two pairs of sunglasses for $10.
