Designer brand gadgets with plenty of style
There are cool gadgets, and then there are awesome gadgets. There are all types of nifty things out there, from headphones and Bluetooth speakers to desk-mounted, USB-powered foam dart turrets. But, the coolest devices go beyond functionality to add a bit of designer class with a great look and respectable label.
There isn’t an overwhelming number of designer gadgets out there, but they exist, and if you’re a person who cares as much about form as function, you’ll want to seek them out. We’ve found a few worth mentioning that you might want to grab on your next shopping trip.
Looking (and listening) cool
By now you’ve probably heard about Beats by Dre, the line of headphones created by rapper Dr. Dre. You can find a number of different styles on Amazon or Best Buy, where you can snag 2 percent Cash Back. And if you’re looking for something really swank, check out the Beats by Dre that’s designed by Oscar de la Renta. The headphones retail for quite a bit (a cool $695), but you can grab 2 percent Cash Back at oscardelarenta.com.
If furry Beats by Oscar de la Renta aren’t your speed, you might prefer headphones sporting prints by Etro. They’re available at farfetch.com, and they’re quite a bit cheaper than the de la Renta’s – only about $107 on sale.
Tech you can wear
Some gadgets are more fashionable than functional. One good example: a Lanvin “iPhone Necklace,” which turns your common iPhone 32-pin computer connector into something a little more interesting. At $275, The necklace sports the connector and also includes a USB drive as well, giving it some data storage function on top of being hip. Lanvin’s necklace is making its home on farfetch.com, along with another spiffy USB drive – this one from designers DSQUARED2, which will run fans about $100.
Designer devices can be tough to come by (and often quite a bit more expensive than their standard counterparts), but you can definitely find these and more – at some decent prices – if you’re willing to shop around.
