The Affiliated Business Group (ABG), a division of DSW Inc., will become the sole supplier for Loehmann’s footwear departments at both brick-and-mortar locations and online destinations beginning in December with the full launch to all U.S. stores by the first quarter of 2014.
Thursday’s announcement of the joint agreement outlines a roadmap by which ABG will plan, procure, and deliver women’s and men’s footwear inventory while Loehmann’s will provide manpower to staff the shoe departments.
Additional details and specifics about inventory management, brand selection and other store operations were not made available on Thursday.
The new partnership provides a boost to Loehmann’s, one that could help the retailer attract even a greater number of frugal, savvy, fashion-conscious customers, especially with a greater shoe selection.
Loehmann’s, a discount fashion retailer with stores in 11 states, boasts of prices that are 30-65 percent cheaper than most department stores on dresses, suits, sportswear, shoes, handbags, accessories and menswear.
“We are thrilled with our partnership with ABG,” Loehmann’s CEO Steven Newman said. “Through their association with DSW Inc., ABG’s expertise in creating a compelling assortment in footwear at everyday value will elevate our product offering.”
