Fall fashion: 2015 footwear trends
If you’re feeling the summer blues as August begins its downhill slope straight to fall, there’s one word that can cheer you up as the temps begin to go down: boots.
The return of boots is one of the most redeeming qualities of the colder seasons, and shoewear trends for fall of 2015 have us even more excited than usual.
Here are some of our favorite fall footwear trends that will make the season a lot hotter:
Fringe accents:
This season, it’s a new spin on Western boots — Dolly Parton style. Expect to see fringe accents everywhere, especially on short, ankle-height booties. A little bit boho, a little bit western and all kinds of fun, fringe is an easy way to update your tootsies, while keeping them toasty, too.
You don’t have to let the fringe take over your feet. We love the back fringe accent on these Sam Edelman boots. Sam Edelman is leading the fringe bootie trend at Nordstrom, so scour his whole line to find the style that best fits your personality. Sam Edelman Louie Boot, $139.95 (plus 3% Cash Back), Nordstrom.com
Closed-toe, retro-esque loafers:
Loafers are the lead flats for fall. Try them in a shiny patent leather black with tassels or fringe accents. Round toe or a slightly pointed toe are both in style. For something edgy, pick loafers in a bold color, such as silver. Steve Madden Women’s Meela Lug Tassel Loafers, $89 (plus 5% Cash Back), Macys.com
Oxfords have been in (again) for a while, but this fall, they’re taking an exciting turn. Look for this classically conservative, menswear-inspired shoe in all kinds of wild colors and styles, such as perforated, cut-out leather or shiny silver. Even in metallic pink or in nontraditional two-tones, such as white with teal toe tips. Cohl Haan Women’s Gramercy Oxfords, on sale $131.24 (5% Cash Back), Macys.com
Printed combat boots:
Plain black Docs have branched out, and now you can find this timelessly tough shoe in floral print, scenery print, with star cut-outs — you name it. Nordstrom even carries a solid white Doc, which gives them a light, feminine feeling. Martens Pascal Boot, $154.95 (plus up to 3% Cash Back), Nordstrom.com
