Falling in Style: One chic mom blog
Iva Grbesic is Falling in Style. And that happens to be the name of her blog. She is one chic mom of four, who drives a minivan and knows how to style an outfit. She is an inspiration to all busy moms, and her blog acts as that motivator for the rest of us. Meet Iva …
Where I’m based: Toronto, Ontario
How long I’ve been blogging: I have been blogging for about a year and a half.
Blog/business basics: I blog about style and how it evolves after 30 and children. Style doesn’t end at age 35.
Why did you decide to start your blog? Other women would compliment me on looking put together while being a mother of four. They would ask for style advice. I decided to start a blog about what I was wearing. I offer honest advice and let women know about Spanx, muffin tops, good fitting bras and everything else we need to know.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? My favorite thing about blogging is when readers contact me to tell me that I’m pushing them to take time for themselves. That they are dressing up and enjoying it and feeling good about themselves. I had one reader tell me she printed out my picture, went to a store and said “I want this”.
Other blogs I love: Atlantic Pacific, Crazy Style Love, Suburban Faux Pas, School Gate Stye, Toronto Shopaholic to name a few. I could go on and on. You can check out my blog roll page to see the rest.
Guilty pleasure: I have so many — reality TV, chocolate and peanut butter, anything blazers and jeans (I can’t resist and have too many).
Last thing I bought: The last thing I bought was school supplies. The last thing I bought myself was a hat from Croatia. Now what I want to buy myself is a pair of black, pointy toe bow pumps from Ferragamo. They are just stunning.
Describe your ideal shopping trip? Me+Paris+Amex Black Card.
Best Halloween costume you’ve ever had: I was Wonder Woman in grade school. It was a cheap plastic costume that only lasted a day but for that one day I was Wonder Woman and I was invincible, had a whip and flew an invisible plane.
How’s the minivan treating you? Best vehicle ever. I have four children and it holds the entire family, a few Judy’s, clothing, collapsible chairs and a few other odds and ends. My husband wants to get rid of it, not gonna happen.
