Make fireworks with your manicure! 3 awe-inducing 4th of July paint jobs
Oh, shoot. The Fourth of July is right around the corner and you forgot to buy a festive, patriotic outfit.
(Psst … don’t you dare go reach for that flag-adorned T-shirt with a 2007 dateline. It’s time to turn it into a dust rag).
If America’s birthday snuck up on you — yes, it does that even though it’s on the fourth day of the seven month every single year — just pull out some nail polish and let your fingers or toes make all the fireworks. From stamps, to sponges to a little freehand, here’s how to make your nails say ‘I’m proud to be an American!” and “May the Fourth be with you.”
Here are three festive manicures for the Fourth of July courtesy of some creative ladies armed with polish.
Stars, stripes and a heart: Kristina at DailySomething.com gives each fingernail it’s own personality for an ultra-festive 4th of July manicure. Stars, check! Stripes, check! Ooh, and a little twist on the pinkie: A tiny, darling heart. We love how she used varying colors — red, white and blue of course — for the base of her all-American paint job.
Red, white and blue sponged nails: Heather from I Feel Polished says the 4th of July is her favorite holiday. Fireworks, barbecuing with family and friends, going out on the boat — all while looking perfectly festive with a red, white and blue manicure. She clues us in on how to imitate her design by using stamps and some silver star decals. Super cute & reminds us of those turbo rocket popsicles that we loved so much as kids.
All that glitters and sparkles: Jennifer — a Florida lifestyle blogger who curates FabFatale.com — has a regular feature she calls “Manicure Monday.” One of her latest creations: A manicure as sparkly as the sparkler she’s holding. She used a few different polishes and techniques to create the look — including a sparkly blue nail polish, layers of a sheer silver polish on her thumbnail and bundle monster stamps to create stars and stripes. We salute you, girl.
