Fizz & Frosting blogger loves bargain hunting and a glass of wine
Lauren Dix of Fizz & Frosting has the just the right amount of bubbly and sass to make her personal style blog a must-read. She loves J. Crew and bargain hunting and if there was a glass of wine in the mix, her life would be complete. Meet Lauren …
Where I’m based: Richmond, Va.
How long I’ve been blogging: I started Fizz & Frosting just over a year ago in August of 2012, but I blogged for about a year beforehand on Weddingbee.
Blog/business basics: Clothes and fashion are definitely my passion, and Fizz & Frosting reflects that. Personal style posts dominate with a focus on dressing affordably, but I also like to share tidbits from my life. The occasional puppy photo, running update or winery visit pop up from time to time.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? Blogging is a great creative outlet, and I love how it’s expanded my fashion boundaries. I definitely experiment much more with my wardrobe and have a better sense of my own personal style.
Other blogs I love: There are many, but the ones that I consistently read daily for style inspiration would be Kendi Everyday, Because Shanna Said So and Bows & Sequins.
Guilty pleasure: Dark chocolate, a glass of red wine and the occasional trashy reality TV show.
Last thing I bought: A pair of black booties to add to my fall wardrobe!
What’s the best deal you’ve ever gotten? I’ve done a couple posts on my finds at the J.Crew Warehouse in Lynchburg. They are truly amazing! I’ve found No. 2 pencil skirts and dress pants for $10 and special occasion dresses for $15-$20!
How would you define your style? I am drawn to classic, timeless pieces and feminine cuts, but I like to mix it up with fun prints and fabrics to keep my look youthful!
What in your closet can you not live without? Although I’m a girly girl, I love me a great pair a jeans. Embarrassingly enough, I own well over a dozen pairs!
As a wannabe wine connoisseur what is your glass of choice? Peppery reds typically top my list. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are favorites.
