While Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer, obviously that doesn’t mean your kids should put away the books for the next three months.
So, to help you keep their math and reading skills sharp, we’ve rounded up a pair of educational freebies for the summer.
TenMarks, an Amazon company, is offering its Summer Math Program for free. The program, which usually costs $39.95, is for children in first grade all the way through high school. It is laid out in three, 20-minute sessions per week. That amount of time feels like a nice balance between keeping their skills fresh and enjoying the sunshine. For more information, click here.
In addition to math, it’s important to keep your kids reading during the dog days of summer. Barnes & Noble has a free summer reading kit full of activities, that you can find here. Plus any child that reads eight books and records them on a reading journal, will be eligible for a free book from the store.
Here’s to a summer full of reading, arithmetic and, of course, fun!
