Fun Christmas websites for kids
By Aimee Heckel
Santa Claus is real — and the web proves it.
St. Nick has inspired plenty of fun, interactive websites for families to enjoy together this December. In the final days before Christmas, get your kids excited for the big day with these fun Christmas websites for kids.
- Northpole.com: Write letters to Santa and receive them back, play games, make crafts, find recipes and more.
- Merry-Christmas.com: Play games, read stories, poems and jokes, color, learn about traditions, listen to Christmas music and check out some delicious recipes.
- Claus.com: Choose an elf buddy, play games, earn an honorary elf diploma, check your rating on the Naughty Or Nice list, sing songs, send an email to Santa, follow Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve and much more.
- Santa.net: Make your Christmas list, visit Santa’s house, blog with Santa and when he’s not too busy, chat with Santa online. Hint: Right now, he’s kinda preoccupied.
- The-North-Pole.com: Play the North Pole Game, test your knowledge of Christmas tunes, email Santa and learn some history about Santa and this holiday.
- And our own personal favorite: IsItChristmas.com: This website is the perfect website if your kids keep waking you up at 5 a.m. asking you, “Is it Christmas yet?” Just click the link and see for yourself — is it Christmas?
Here are some of our favorite features:
Catch Santa in your home: Get a picture of Santa in your home on Christmas Eve for less than $10. This offering is for parents only (you must enter your date of birth to prove it), so we’ll let you log on and learn more for yourself.
Make an adorable penguin Christmas card: Since it’s too late to arrive by Christmas, use these as your thank-you cards. These cards are easy enough to make with your kids when they’re stuck at home over winter break. Just pick up a few craft supplies at your local craft store — or even just Walmart’s craft section.
You’ll need card stock, construction paper, little google eyes, felt, a circle punch and a few more goodies. Save money on your craft items from Walmart with these coupons. Plus get 7 percent Cash Back from ShopAtHome.com.
