Holiday gift guide: Soft, supmtuous cashmere for $100 or less
In case you’ve ever paused to wonder what that wonderfully soft sweater is actually made of, here’s a clue: Thank the mighty goat for that cashmere sweater you adore. While some call it “wool,” it’s actually hair—not wool—of the Cashmere goat. That might be why wool makes us itch, but all things cashmere are soft to the touch.
Stephanie Muehlausen, vice president and fashion director for Macy’s, says sweaters and other cashmere products sell well around the holiday season.
“Cashmere is the softest, most luxurious knit, and now is offered in eye-catching hues,” she says. “Get ready to fall in love with the Charter Club’s supremely soft cashmere sweaters (on sale now for $79.99)….Soft. Sumptuous. Totally indispensable.”
Those sweaters, which come in 24 different colors, will be in sale during Macy’s Black Friday doorbuster hours. It may be worth waking early to get your hands on a $39.99 cashmere sweater.
But if you’re not an early riser, consider a few other fabulous finds for under $100. The only trick to staying ahead of your holiday shopping is setting these treasures aside. Once you feel the softness, you may be tempted to keep that cuddly soft sweater or scarf for yourself (we don’t judge):
