Get these 5 glam Golden Globes red carpet looks for a whole lot less
Some folks get fired up for football playoffs, but the fashionistas among us? We’re kicking off red carpet season, and last night’s Golden Globes were just the start of the award show madness that will culminate in the Oscars next month.
We were loving the pretty dresses paraded in Los Angeles, and were inspired by five women in particular. Of course, most of us don’t have the highest of high-end designers on speed dial, so we tracked down some (much) more affordable alternatives. Speech! Speech!
Emma Stone
The Best Supporting Actress nominee for Birdman looked super chic in a jumpsuit, complete with a rhinestone-embellished bodice and giant bow sash. This ASTER faux leather bustier jumpsuit, $84 at Nordstrom, is a fraction of the price, but still red carpet-worthy.
Melissa McCarthy
The presenter and Bridesmaids star looked fresh in a black and white DIY creation that she reportedly had created from pieces in her closet. “It’s like a chop shop,” she told E!. For a similar black and white colorblock look, we like this Lipsy bandeau embellished evening gown for Asos, a steal at just $64.43.
Kate Mara
The former House of Cards actress sizzled in a belted red Miu Miu gown. We think this Jill Jill Stuart deep double-V crepe gown is a pretty substitution, and, at $258 from Bloomingdale’s, it won’t break the bank.
Leslie Mann
Talk about a ray of sunshine! From her soft, sideswept hair to the small train on her beautiful yellow KaufmanFranco gown, Mann shined on the red carpet. To capture her style at your next black tie event, try this strapless chiffon Laundry by Shelli Segal gown, $295 at Nordstrom.
Amy Poehler
From its cobalt blue color to its flattering ruching detail at the waist, there’s a lot to love about the Stella McCartney number co-host Poehler wore on the red carpet. But we’re also smitten with this less formal Asos version, $85.28, that is similar in color and shape and also features—yay!—pockets!
