Grammy fashion: Madonna rocks menswear, Ryan Lewis is well-suited in blue

(Inspired by Madonna’s menswear look at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards? Top your outfit with a black hat and finish with a pouty red lip).

(Menswear trend alert: Velvet blazers. Here’s a near body double of the one worn by Ryan Lewis at the Grammy Awards).

The Grammy’s bring together a couple of our favorite things: Music and fashion. And sometimes “fashion” comes in the form of bizarre costumes — if you’ll recall, of course, when Toni Braxton basically just wore a loin cloth in 2001 or if you just think about anything Lady Gaga or Nicki Minaj have worn. Sure, outrageous outfits are fun to watch — from a distance. But when it comes to fashion that we can emulate, we’re drawing inspiration from some of the Grammy’s chart-topping style icons. We’ve shopped Nordstrom for looks inspired by the stars. Cash Back at Nordstrom when you shop through ShopAtHome.com is at 15 percent right now!
Beyonce’s white lace: Leave it to Beyonce to take soft white lace and make it look fierce. Her dress was part elegant, part sexy. If you loved her look, check out these designer white lace dresses that are less revealing but still have a wow factor: Tory Burch Guipure Lace Silk Sheath dress for $795 or this Tadashi Shoji Lace & Tulle dress for $238. You can find a more budget-friendly version in the form of this DV by Dolce Vita ‘Botanical Shift Dress’ for $118.
Madonna’s menswear: We always wonder what Madonna will show up wearing. The material girl embraced a polished menswear look this year. If you want to channel the vibe from her look, top any outfit with a structured, wide brimmed hat — like this Topshop Floppy Wool hat for $56 or this Topshop ‘Beekeeper’ hat for $50.
Katy Perry hit a high note: The pop star gave us a not-so subtle reminder of what the Grammy’s are all about with musical scores embellishing her full, tulle skirt. Maybe musical notes are the next polka dots? ‘Till then, we’ll take them as we can get them: As a jeweled charm from Pandora ($25).
Ryan Lewis’s blue velvet suit: The other half of Macklemore surely didn’t get that handsome get-up from the thrift store. Or did he? Rich fabrics like velvet in jewel tones are trending this year for men. We found a handsome Hugo Boss slim-fit velvet blazer in a similar blue at Nordstrom for $365.15, marked down 33 percent. Pop those tags!
