Settle down in the great outdoor (furniture)
The word to look for when shopping for outdoor furniture is “sturdy.” You want chairs and tables that won’t blow away at the slightest breeze, and certainly won’t disintegrate with the first serious summer rainfall.
Happily, we’ve come a long way these days when it comes to weatherproofing everything from our cushions to our tables. No need to put up with rust and mildew if you do a bit of research.
Powder-coated metal, a bit more expensive, will last longest. If you’re in love with wood, look to something a bit more expensive, like teak. And there’s nothing wrong with plastic, but don’t expect it to last long.
In a word, you really do get what you pay for with outdoor furniture.
