Holiday gift guide for new parents

This is their last holiday season with just the two of them. Next year, everything will be different. If you have loved ones expecting a new baby, do something special for them this winter and pick them up a special gift to commemorate this transitional point in their lives.
Not to mention they’re going to need some help.
Here are some of our favorite holiday gifts for new parents.
1. Knowledge. That’s what we’re calling this book set especially for fathers-to-be. The gift of knowledge. This is a series of fatherhood books, from “The Expectant Father, Facts, Tips and Advice for Dads-to-Be” all the way to “Fathering your Toddler.” Pick up this practical “Father Knows Best” book set at Amazon.com starting at $17.93.
2. A personalized ornament. Baby’s first ornament can hang before baby even arrives. This gingerbread “Cookie in the Oven” ornament is pretty darn cute — plus you can add the due date. Only $18.95 at Zazzle.com.
3. Relaxation. A massage. A pedicure. Heck, a whole spa day for both parents to use in the final weeks of the pregnancy or after baby arrives. Ask any mama who’s bursting at the seams; this gift can’t be topped.
4. Movies. Some day when the baby is sick and they are sick and they have no energy to stand up, they will thank you for stocking up their Disney shelf. Pick movies that are kid-appropriate but parent-tolerable. Now, to be clear, there is a very small window of overlap there, so be careful. No Sponge Bob Square Pants. That’s basically like getting coal in your stocking.
