The best looks for Homecoming 2013
By Brittany Anas
If you’ve got a teenager, surely they’ve reminded you that they’re all grown up. Just once or twice, right? And while they may have a license, hit a growth spurt and are entering that independent phase, we’re guessing you’re probably still shelling out the cash for a homecoming dress for your daughter or shirt-and-tie combination for your son.
Nothing makes you realize just how grown your babies are than seeing them lined up for Homecoming photos and wearing corsages or boutonnieres. Yes, it’s that time of year when teenagers are popping the “Will you go to Homecoming with me?” question, followed up by “Mom, can I borrow some money?”
While there haven’t been any major and recent studies about how much the average student spends on homecoming, a Visa study suggested the average cost of prom — the other big dance — was flirting with nearly $1,100 per family. No need to blow the college savings fund on a high school dance. Trust us.
