Fall 2012: The fashion season when leopard prints became neutrals. The great thing about leopard is that it pairs well with cool and warm hues, making it a versatile player in your closet. Animal prints are a fun way to dress up your wardrobe basics and tease your dog into thinking there’s a cat in the house.
Here are some tips for how to wear leopard as the timeless pattern carries over into the winter.
Use sparingly, or else you might get called to audition for one of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” shows.
A touch of leopard incorporated into your outfit is enough to make a bold statement. If you’re warming up to animal prints, try some subtle accents – like cinching a dress with a leopard-print skinny belt or carrying a leopard clutch. Draping a printed scarf over a black T-shirt or leather jacket can give your outfit a chic update.

Mix with holiday colors
Leopard pairs beautifully with reds or greens, and is a good way to give your holiday outfits a twist. Try a leopard cardigan over a green dress or a cranberry-colored blouse. A cardigan or skirt in the print is a good investment that can be worn in the spring, too. The tan in leopard unexpectedly looks good with bright yellows.
