Get Kate Middleton’s striped T-shirt look from Old Navy
By Brittany Anas
When international style icon Kate Middleton steps out in an outfit, fashion lovers of the world take note and are quick to get on board with her classic-but-stunning style. We all saw how quickly the Issa London sapphire wrap dress sold out (literally, minutes) after she wore it during her engagement announcement. Even two years later, when Banana Republic debuted a capsule Issa London collection, a similar wrap dress became a quick seller.
So, when the new mom-to-be went shopping in a black Breton-striped top, black jeans and flat loafers — a perfectly chic look for the grocery store — the outfit resonated with us. This is one royal look we can most definitely imitate, while sticking on a budget. See the look here. (Oh, and we know your wondering: How did Kate get slim so quick? Sources told US Weekly that she’s been doing yoga — but hasn’t taken on any crazy diet tricks).
The top: Bold black and white is a classic trend going strong in 2013. For a top with the same nautical boatneck cut that Kate sported, check out this black-and-white top from Old Navy for $19.94. (Under $14 when you factor in ShopAtHome.com savings and the 25 percent off sale). For a sleeveless option, here’s a black-and-white striped tank, on sale for $10.
The jeans: We found a $19 (plus sale!) pair of “blackjack” skinny jeans at Old Navy that we promise will be a staple in your closet. Wear them all fall and winter long by dressing them down with striped T-shirts for a casual look or dress them up with a sweater or collared oxford.
The shoes: We’re obsessed with the flats collection at Old Navy. Kate wore a neutral-and-cream boat type of shoe in her trek to the grocery store. We found a pair of camel-colored studded flats for a fun interpretation of Kate’s look or a neutral flat with an ankle strap for a more classic look.
