A Lacey Perspective knows style
Lacey Maffettone is pursuing a career in politics by day and writing about fashion and personal style by night on her blog A Lacey Perspective. Her style is sophisticated and polished, and we love her as much as she loves her wedding red Valentino pumps. Meet Lacey ...
Where I’m based: Washington, D.C.
How long I’ve been blogging: Three years
Blog/business basics: Style blog — outfit posts, wish lists and styling advice.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? I enjoy being inspired by other bloggers, and inspiring others to dress their best and in turn feel their best.
Other blogs I love: This Time Tomorrow, Poor Little It Girl and The Everygirl
Guilty pleasure: Chocolate
Last thing I bought: DVF Opal Wedges in black (I think I need them in every color they come in).
What’s the dress code for a young professional in DC politics? It depends on where you work. Downtown it is business professional, but I am lucky enough to work in an environment where I can dress casual.
What’s your go-to weekend ware? Easy — maxi dress and oversized sunnies. All-day, everyday on the weekend.
What is your advice for a woman who wants to spice up her wardrobe? Do not be afraid of color. Just because you work in an environment that is conservative does not mean black, white and grey are your only options. Start with your accessories and then work your way to your clothing as you get more comfortable.
What’s one basic every woman needs? White silk top. It works all year long. I am currently loving all of the Equipment tops!
