Where I’m based: Upstate New York — but I’m moving to northern New Jersey in two weeks.
How long I’ve been blogging: Since January 2012
Blog/business basics: Life Unsweetened is a life and style blog – without the sugar coating. I write about a little bit of everything- clothes, beauty, relationships, etc.- and everything is always straight-up and honest. I’m definitely not afraid to say what’s on my mind and give my opinion.
Other blogs I love: I read way too many to list a few favorites.
Guilty pleasure: Chocolate, One Direction — their songs are just so catchy — and kittens.
Last thing I bought: Kitchen items for my upcoming move. Boring, I know, but this girl needed some new baking sheets!
Beauty products of choice: Urban Decay and Benefit are my two favorite high-end brands, but I also love L’oreal and e.l.f. for drugstore brands. My must-haves include L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara, Urban Decay primer potion, and Benefit’s High Beam.
What fashion trend will you be trying this summer? I’m all about patterns this summer- I love the Aztec trend, florals, stripes — anything!
So you’re moving out of your parents’ house, what are you looking forward to most? My boyfriend and I have been doing the whole long-distance thing for 2 years now, so I’m looking forward to finally getting to see him every day. I’m really excited to get to decorate our space, too. Oh and I’m starting a new job, so that’s exciting as well.
How do you balance your day job, blogging, your boyfriend and having a life? It’s definitely not easy, but I have a routine that I’m comfortable with now. I try to schedule posts ahead of time, which helps a ton. On a day off, weekend or a night when I’m not busy, I’ll write up a few relevant posts and then schedule them for the rest of the week. An editorial calendar helps a lot, too. I’ve always been good at time management and I’m pretty creative, so I rarely get in blogging ruts where I can’t think of anything to write about. It’s a good trait that I’m lucky to have!
Cats or dogs? I love both, but I have a soft spot in my heart for cats. Especially my 7-year old cat, Buddy. He has a tiny head but a big stomach.
