Love, Kate shares on carpools, fitness and beauty
Kate Moreland is the busy mom behind Love, Kate. When she is not carpooling the kids, going to school, working out, crafting, shopping, getting manicures and taking care of her family, she is working on her blog. Her work ethic is admirable and her prioritization inspiring. Meet Kate …
Where I’m based: I live in the beautiful state of Maryland right outside of the District of Colombia.
How long I’ve been blogging: Prior to this blog, I had another one that I kept for about three years. Due to some life events, I deleted it to work on me and my family– hm, this could be a good post. I have recently started back up again within the last year and I love it!
Blog/business basics: My blog focuses on fashion and a healthy lifestyle, with a few personal things thrown in from time to time. I try to show my readers affordable, every day fashions as well as a few more elaborate things that every girl dreams of!
What do you enjoy most about blogging? I really just like to talk. I don’t care who is listening — or if anyone is! I like informing people on how to live a healthy lifestyle as well, since it’s something I am passionate about. I would love to say it’s because of the connections I have made, but in all honesty, I have yet to make that sort of connection with anyone — but I am open to it!
Other blogs I love: This is tough, because there are just so many that I adore! My favorite ones are The Beauty Bybel, The Daybook, Pink Peonies, Merricks Art, The Honeybee, Stilettos and Diapers and Chain Strap Purse. I have a special page on my blog of all my favorites!
Guilty pleasure: OK, I may sound crazy here, but I love grape flavored swishers, I know smoking is bad, but every once in a while I like to enjoy one.
Last thing I bought: The last thing I bought was mascara! I cannot live without. I purchased L’Oreal Telescopic.
Fav stores: Forever 21, Target, Windsor and Walgreens! I never leave Walgreens without at least buying nail polish.
What’s your workout of choice? Anything that is high intensity and requires weights. I have tried yoga and it bores me to tears. I like to put on some Chris Brown or Lil Wayne and get moving!
What craft are you most proud of that you’ve done? For my daughter we made her a vanity out of a pallet for her birthday. It turned out adorable — that was a special blog post!
How do you balance life as a blogger, a student, a shopper and of course, the hardest job of all, a mom? It is really tough. My days are jammed pack. I always have a kid to drive somewhere, I work out every day and my school work is intense, but I am sure to make time for everything. If it means a 30 minute workout, then so be it. When school starts up for the kids, it is sure to get even crazier, because that is when I work as well. And right now, I am trying to get a full time job as a teacher’s assistant — I want this one bad!
If you were in charge of naming the next hot nail polish color, what would you name it? Well this is a tough question, because I am not creative at all! Let me think, hm, I gotta say you got me stumped on this one! I’m sure I’ll think of something pretty witty when I am trying to sleep tonight, but as of now I have nothing!
