Meagan Murtagh: A Wyoming mountainista
Being a state over from us here in Colorado, we loved coming across Wyoming’s mountainista blogger, Meagan Murtagh of The Egg. Meag the egg is one of those gals you can hike up a mountain with one day, then go shopping with the next. She has a distinct style and a sense of humor that gives us a chuckle. When we read her bio, we knew this was a match made in heaven. Meet Meagan …
How long I’ve been blogging: Three years-ish
Blog/business basics: The Egg is a mountain town lifestyle blog based in beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyo. From Mountainista fashion to highly elevated adventures, I document my daily life in the fresh mountain air.
Other blogs I love: Nat the Fat Rat is my favorite, she is just the cutest. Megan from Across the Pond is a good bloggy friend and keeps it real. Oh, and Kendi Everyday can do no style wrong.
Guilty pleasure: Weird TLC documentaries. I guess they make me feel better about my life? My friends think this habit is questionable. Whatever, Siamese twins blow my mind.
Last thing I bought: This dress. Yes, please!
Fav stores: Madewell, Shopbop, Piperlime, you know…the usual suspects.
Your idea of the best pickle ever: A big fat plate of Fried Pickles with ketchup. Sorry for partying.
What is the best theme party you’ve ever attended? Wow, this question really got me thinking. 95% of my Facebook pictures I’m in some sort of costume. Is that weird? I’ve gone to them all but the best by far was probably our first annual ’80s Ladies Ski Ballet a few years ago. ’80s ski apparel never, ever, gets old. Neon thongs slope side are a sight to see, I tell ya.
Is your style influenced by living in a mountain town? Definitely! We mountainistas need to dress for the weather all year round. That being said, it’s pretty casual around these parts, so a bit easier to style. I try to buy items that can work for any season but sometimes I cave to fun trends. Luckily, the rugged trend is kind of in right now. If I’m shopping for trends, I tend to keep it on the cheaper side through stores like Zara, Target, and Forever 21.
What’s the best place you’ve ever traveled? This is a tough one!! My bestie was living in Dubai for a few years and I went to visit on a whim. That place is an entirely different world. Talk about culture shock!
What’s it like dating a carpenter? Kind of amazing. Projects get done and get done right! Jeff gets pumped up to fix things. I come up with the ideas and he executes. We’re a good team. Plus, he’s (way) sexy in a tool belt.
