Nick Cannon’s tie collection debuts at Macy’s
By Brittany Anas
Nick Cannon — an actor, comedian and TV personality — can now add “designer” to his resume. Those who watch the red carpets already know the guy has got swagger — proven, most recently, by that purple suit-and-gray vest combo he pulled off at an America’s Got Talent event back in May. (It takes a powerful combo of confidence and style to rock this look. Yup, those are purple shoes, too).
Now, Cannon has designed an exclusive line of ties for Macy’s — which is topping our list of men’s fashion must-haves for fall. (When you shop through ShopAtHome.com, you’ll get 6 percent Cash Back on your Macy’s purchases).
Cannon has this to say about his tie line: “My style has always been about individuality, confidence and expression. With my new line of ties available exclusively at Macy’s, I am thrilled I can now offer shoppers across the country access to spectacular prints and bold colors to create a look that’s all their own.”
The ties sell for $65, but you can score them for 20 percent off now plus Cash Back from ShopAtHome.com. All of the ties in Cannon’s collection are made of silk and include prints like stripes, dots and plaids. Think bold, unexpected pops of color, too — like mint, purple, cornflower and orange. Those are among the leading design colors according to Pantone, leading authority on color.
Here are a few ties in Cannon’s exclusive Macy’s collection that caught our attention:
- Gummy dot: Give a jolt of color and personality to a dress shirt with this tie. It comes in Cornflower blue or purple. To err on a conservative side, it also comes in navy blue.
- Plaid: Fall fashion is favoring plaid. This classic plaid tie gets a 2013 update with an almost digitized look.
- Lollipop dot: This ain’t your average polka dot. The polka dot is filled with plaid for a unique twist on pattern mixing. The background color comes in purple, cornflower or black.
- Roll stripe: For a collegiate, preppy look — this tie is your guy.
Does dear ole’ dad or the hubby need a new tie? It’s not too soon to start thinking about your holiday shopping. Macy’s has announced that it will stray from its tradition of staying closed on Thanksgiving today, and, this year, will open at 8 p.m. for the Black Friday crowd.
