Two Thirds Hazel: ‘Life’s too short to be serious’
Erin Gray of Two Thirds Hazel has the perfect amount of sarcasm to make you laugh out loud at work as you read her blog at your desk. Her blog has an incredible vibe of honesty, humor and lightheartedness that makes us visit daily. Erin doesn’t take herself too seriously, and you never know what she’ll write about next. Meet Erin …
Where I’m based: I’m currently living out my dreams in the city that never sleeps — New York — aka the best city in the entire world.
How long I’ve been blogging: Since February 2012, boy does the time fly right on by.
Blog/business basics: A whole bunch of random. That’s exactly what you can expect to find when you come visit my piece of the blog-o-sphere. There are posts about anything from my adventures frolicking around Manhattan (petting every puppy along the way) to my love for crappy reality TV (hello Real Housewives of everywhere) and Blue Moon drinking abilities. Once in a while you’ll find a recipe written in the tone of someone who should be banned from the kitchen as well as a DIY craft project to decorate my closet of an NYC apartment. The common theme among all of them being a witty, sarcastic and plain old “life’s too short to be serious” mentality.
Other blogs I love: Whitney from I Wore Yoga Pants to Work and Katie from Keep Calm and Carry On.
Guilty pleasure: Gummy peach rings and Mexican food make my heart sing, the Bachelor franchise has dominated my life for the past I don’t even know how many years and a cheap beer can make me happier than one should.
Last thing I bought: Sparklers for my “Red, White and Blue – America” themed birthday party extravaganza. There’s nothing more exciting than something sparkly.
Fav stores: Probably the grocery store if we’re going to get real honest. I’d choose good food over clothes any day. But if I’m shopping it’d absolutely be Target, they have anything you could ever need!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the city that never sleeps? Anything and everything away from the tourists. Times Square must be avoided at all costs and don’t even get me started on China Town or the Empire State Building.
Any ideas what you are going to name your new puppy? Unfortunately she’s not my puppy, she’s my parents puppy and her name is Aria, Ari for short. There’s absolutely nothing cuter than a little ball of yellow lab rolling around your yard. She melts my heart to pieces.
What pin board do you pin to the most? My decorating one. My dream job would probably be an interior designer and I cannot wait until I grow up and have my own house to decorate. My tiny New York City apartment doesn’t leave much room when it comes to decor.
If you could only watch one of the Harry Potter movies for the rest of your life, which one would it be? This is an impossible question to answer. But if I had to pick I’d go with the first one. There’s so much amazement and excitement from all of the first year students. And the first book brings back so many memories of when I was young and wanted nothing more than to get a letter in the mail from Hogwarts. Unfortunately, you can see that didn’t happen…
