A Sweet Georgia Peach blogger talks teaching, fashion, Netflix
Kerri Hammett is a teacher by day and the girl behind the adorable blog A Sweet Georgia Peach by night. She has an affinity for nail polish, sweet tea and even numbers. Pinterest steers her outfit decisions and she loves Target about as much as we do. Meet Kerri …
Where I’m based: Atlanta
How long I’ve been blogging: I’ve been blogging for five years. Wow, it seems much shorter than that.
Blog basics: A Sweet Georgia Peach is a total lifestyle blog. I blog about everything from my outfits of the day to how I’ve recently become lactose intolerant and the life struggles without ice cream. I also usually include a loving amount of sarcasm.
Guilty pleasure: Netflix. I get majorly addicted to different series and I’ll watch them constantly. Gossip Girl? Two weeks, every season. One Tree Hill? At least 10 episodes per day on the weekends. It’s a sickness I’m ashamed of!
Last thing I bought: A bathing suit from Target — $4.48 for the bottom, you can’t beat that.
How would you define your personal style? I’d describe my style as classic girly. I tend to buy classic pieces that don’t go out of style, then make it trendy with jewelry.
Where do you get your inspiration for the outfits you put together? Pinterest. I really don’t know what we did without it.
What outfits do your students like the most? They love some colored skinnies. I have a bright blue pair they always talk about and love. They also love when I wear heels because “She’s so tall!”
What are your plans for the summer? Summer! Ah, that word just makes me ooze excitement. I’ll spend the month of June in class working on my masters in curriculum and instruction. In July, Nick, my main squeeze, and I will be heading to Tennessee and Florida. We love to travel in the summer. I’ll also be crafting and planning for my new classroom theme – carnival!
