Road Warriorette blogger offers advice for women who travel for work
Sarah, the Road Warriorette blogger, knows the ins and outs of business travel, and she shares her knowledge and insight with other women who travel for work. From info about her favorite travel shoes, to inspiring posts about how to handle being away from home as a new mom (and not lose your mind), Sarah’s blog is not only helpful, but you can tell she’s a yogi because of her clarity of thought and honest insight. Now, Sarah, tell us what you know …
Where I’m based: Beautiful Austin, Texas
How long I’ve been blogging: Almost four years. Wow, time has flown by!
Blog basics: Business travel for women — what to pack, travel etiquette, how to make that first trip as easy as possible.
Other blogs I love: Corporette, MommyPoints, Outfit Posts, Finding Drishti, Yoga Dork, Apartment Therapy, Little Pink Book, Daily Worth
My guilty pleasure: Shoes (How many pairs do I own? No idea!) and decorating magazines (I have shelves full. I just can’t throw them away!).
Last thing I bought: Hot pink cropped pants from Ann Taylor (similar to these but a little shorter). I love spring.
How do you make business travel fun? Take advantage of all of the “found time” you can. Dinner on your own? Find a great local restaurant and enjoy a fabulous meal. Delayed at the airport? Get out your Kindle and read a book you haven’t had time to get to.
What’s your most memorable business trip? This is a hard one, but probably the one where I got lost in a snowstorm in Ohio. Very scary for this Texan.
What can you not live without on the road? Besides the obvious computer and iPhone, I must have my Kindle on every single trip I take. Long waits, grounded flights and obnoxious seat-mates won’t bother me as long as I can read. Also, I have to have cute flats. Just because I don’t wear heels doesn’t mean my shoes aren’t fabulous.
What do you do when you’re grounded and not traveling? Spend time with my husband and baby, do yoga, take walks, shop for shoes and, of course, write! I also feed my Pinterest and new-found Polyvore addictions every chance I get.
