How to save money on Chicago’s two top hotels
By Aimee Heckel
It seems everyone has a ranking system these days. But when it comes to exquisite taste with a solid, unquestionable reputation, Forbes rises to the forefront of the media.
Twice a year, Forbes Travel Guide releases its Global Star Ratings, declaring the world’s top hotels, spas and restaurants.
Insider travel tip: Whenever we are headed to a new city, we check Forbes’ ratings first, to help us narrow down our hotel search and assure we will be greeted with hospitality and quality.
Sometimes we agree with Forbes. Sometimes we discover a hotel that we think Forbes would love to know about. Other times, we love the simple sweetness in a quirky hostel or a small-town cabin that would never make any international rankings.
But when it comes to Chicago, we think Forbes is spot on.
Here are our two top hotels in Chicago, which all also happen to be Forbes’ favorites.
1. The Four Seasons Hotel Chicago. With a reputation like the Four Seasons, it should come as no surprise that this hotel has us swooning. First, this hotel is ideally located next to everything, including some of the best shopping in the city. And the cityscape views from your room will leave you breathless. Somehow the city looks so much more beautiful when you’re not stuck in the middle of it in a Taxi cab. You’ll love your room here so much that you won’t want to leave, anyway.
Money-saving tip: Stay three nights and get the third night free. We’re talking at least a $400 night free, folks. This is an incredible offer!
2. The Peninsula Chicago. One look and you’ll know immediately that this is top-of-the-line luxury living. Some of the drool-worthy features you can find here include a marble bathroom with an inset TV, a 42-inch plasma TV, an iPod docking station and a hand’s free telephone in the bathroom.
