Simple Moments Stick reflects on faith, family and life
Susannah Kellogg just started her second year of marriage, and she couldn’t be happier. She started Simple Moments Stick as a way for her to reflect on her life, faith and family (and speaking of family, she comes from a family of eleven siblings — wow!) Her passion for travel, meeting new people and experiencing new cultures is what drew us to read her insightful blog. Meet Susannah …
Where I’m based: I live with my fabulous husband in Portland, Ore.
How long I’ve been blogging: I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half but really got serious about it about eight months ago.
Blog/business basics: My blog is all about life. It mostly focuses around faith, family, marriage and daily life.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? I love the connections I make with women. I love making friends with all sorts of fabulous women simply because we met online.
Other blogs I love: Created, Avocado Grove, Hope Engaged and Tickled Yellow — just to name a few.
Guilty pleasure: Coffee Ice-cream while watching America’s Next Top Model.
Last thing I bought: An adorable dress for my brother’s wedding
Fav stores: Target, World Market and H&M
Where do you get your inspiration for your blog posts? I get inspiration from everywhere! I also forget inspiration as soon as I get it. I carry a notebook and pen around with me so I can write down my post ideas as they come to me.
How’s your second year of marriage treating you? I love being married! My husband is in school so it’s hard not having him all to myself but, other than that, I have nothing to complain about. He treats me fabulously and is truly my best friend.
What’s the best wedding budget tip you learned in planning your wedding? Use your resources. We saved so much money by asking people we know to help us out. We went to church with a fabulous caterer so her wedding present to us was our wedding cake. Another woman from church was a seamstress so she altered my dress in exchange for me helping with some planning for another woman’s wedding (which I love doing!). Our pastor officiated our wedding at no cost because he loves us — the list goes on and on!
What’s the last thing you pinned? I’ve been pinning some blog design information and recipes. I can never get enough recipes. In our two years of marriage, I’ve hardly made the same dish more than once.
