The 5 least romantic states: Is southern charm dead?
By Aimee Heckel
Southern charm doesn’t seem to carry much weight these days, according to a recent list of the most and least romantic states.
Arkansas, you’re slacking off. The study puts this state at the bottom of the love list.
In fact, the list of America’s least romantic cities sweeps across the south, spanning Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee all in the top five.
Alaska isn’t doing so well, either.
StumbleUpon conducted the survey, based on residents’ online searches (think: relationship tips, sweet gift ideas for your lover), in honor of National Romance Awareness Month in August. Of course, you could argue that perhaps southern lovers know how to treat a partner without needing a web search. Maybe a web search indicates a lack of romantic knowledge, rather than romantic initiative.
Regardless, folks in Montana — the most romantic state, according to the survey — are all over searching the web to woo their lovers.
Also in the top five most romantic states: Rhode Island, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Vermont.
See a trend there? This romance game seems to pit north verses south.
Need help sparking romance in the south? Here are some romantic destinations in Arkansas.
