Just a Southern Girl in Pearls blogger loves shopping, Nutella & J. Crew
We found about the cutest first grade teacher ever when we met Jenna from Just a Southern Girl in Pearls. A Georgia peach through and through, she shares her Southern style, love of the South and beautiful photos on her blog. Plus, her students seem to adore her just as much as we do! Jenna, the floor is yours …
Where I’m based: Atlanta
How long I’ve been blogging: I’ve been blogging for two years. I started at the end of my junior year of college.
Blog basics: Just a Southern Girl in Pearls is a lifestyle blog about a born and raised Georgia girl who is all “grown up” and back in elementary school.
Guilty pleasure: I take the bottom off my cupcakes and put them on the frosting to make a sandwich. I eat Nutella from the jar. And I watch Dance Moms and Dancing with the Stars like it’s my job.
Does living in the South influence your style? Yes, it definitely does! I hate the winter, so dressing for it is not my thing. I prefer nice, warm weather so I can wear tank tops, shorts and sandals. Thankfully, in Georgia I can do that most of the year. Plus, whenever I put an outfit together I automatically think, “Hey, my cowboy boots would go great with this.”
Where do you get inspiration for putting outfits together? I get a lot of inspiration for my outfits from magazines, from other bloggers and, of course, from Pinterest. Then I put my own twist on everything I find. I mean, who wants to look exactly like the magazine page? You have to make it your own.
What is your favorite color combination? Currently, mint and coral, but my forever favorite will always be navy and red. It’s perfect for any season.
What’s one thing a woman can do to spruce up her wardrobe on a budget? Accessorize, with anything from bracelets, to chunky necklaces, to watches. You can find budget-friendly options everywhere and adding jewelry, scarves or a cute pair of shoes can really add a new twist to any of your outfits.
Which outfits do your students like best? My kiddos are all about the accessories and they love when I wear bright colors. Since it’s spring, I’ve been bringing out the corals and bright blues and the girls are all over that! And they all love my bracelet, and can’t wait to see if I have painted my nails the night before.
