Spice up your fall with these 3 extreme, adrenaline-filled vacations
By Aimee Heckel
As the weather cools down, keep things hot by igniting your adrenaline. Here are three extreme vacation ideas that would warm up even the coolest of winters.
1. Learn how to drag race.
Find Doug Foley’s Drag Racing Schools are locations throughout the country — from Concord, North Carolina, to Atco, NJ. If you’re on a budget or just curious, sign up for a ride-along in an 800-horsepower dragster ($149).
Or if you want the full experience, enroll in the Super Camp for $1,895. Here, you will learn how the drag cars operate, study safety, fitted with gear and learn how to drive your own race car around the track. You will leave with a competition license.
2. Bungee jump — from the world’s tallest bungee.
You’ll have to travel to Macau, China, for this 764-foot plunge — which means a six-second freefall before you even feel your cord. If that feels a bit extreme, you can always warm up on the Skyjump, which looks scarier than it is.
The Macau Tower itself is a great vacation destination. Enjoy dinner in the 360-degree cafe with a beautiful view. When you’re done, walk around the tower’s walkway. Did we mention it has no handrail? The rushes don’t stop.
