Spring essentials that you can wear now and later
By Brittany Anas
Eager to spring into style early?
Spring fashion trends in 2013 are shying away some from traditional pastels and soft florals. Instead, bold black-and-white stripes and midnight florals (think dark blue and black backgrounds) are coming into style. The trends work well now, with winter accents, and later, with lighter spring pairings.
Here are three trends — and how to wear them now & later this spring.
Black and white stripes:
Now: Pair a lightweight black-and-white striped sweater with a bubblegum pink pink skirt or black pants.
Later: Wear with a skinny pair of white jeans or A-line white skirt.
Khaki trench coat:
Now: We love the subtle punk twist on a khaki trench coat along the collar. A light-weight coat works great over dresses on more mild winter days. (Much better than a bulky puff coat).
Later: GIve your cropped boyfriend jeans a sophisticated layer with this classic trench coat. Loop a floral scarf over it to brighten it up.
Now: Spring dresses can easily be winterized by wearing a pair of black or gray tights underneath, layering a cardigan over top.
Later: This spring pair the dress with beaded sandals and a denim jacket.
