Starbucks selling 1,000 limited edition gift cards Friday, Dec. 6

Do you have a serious Starbucks fan on you Christmas gift list? We mean extremely serious. Like can’t go a day without Starbucks, the baristas know which coffee I order depending on which scarf I’m wearing, kind of Starbucks fan.
Oh, and have $450 to spare this holiday season?
Then you just might be able to pick up the perfect gift Friday.
For the second year in a row, Starbucks is releasing a limited edition metal gift card for the holidays. But, you can’t just walk into any Starbucks around any corner and pick one up. The rose-colored card will only be available at www.gilt.com/starbucksrose at noon ET.
Oh, and there are only 1,000 to go around.
Last year, Starbucks released 5,000 of the metal gift cards and they were sold out in about six minutes, according to USA Today.
The company made a “deliberate decision” to make even fewer metal cards this year, Cliff Burrows, Starbucks group president of the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, told USA Today.
“It’s now more special,” he says. “We’ve elevated it to a new level.”
The $450 rose card comes pre-loaded with $400 for Starbucks and My Starbucks Rewards gold-level status for the user. Gold-level status means a free birthday treat, free refills on iced or brewed coffee and tea, coupons, special offers and other perks.
Burrows said that Starbucks cards are the most “gifted” item in America and reports indicate that 1 in 10 adults received a Starbucks gift card last December.
But only 1,000 will be receiving the hand-assembled, artisan rose metal cards laser-etched with Starbucks lettering in their stocking this year.
