Summer time is sale time: 5 solstice sales to check out this weekend
By Brittany Anas
Hello, summer! We plan to celebrate your sunny arrival with pool days, dinners on the deck and casual outfits.
So, shoppers, sit tight (or lounge tight?) in your hammock. There’s no need to leave the sun to venture to the mall. You can get some amazing deals online this weekend.
Friday, June 21 is officially the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. To celebrate we’ve rounded up some of the greatest deals.
Target: Take 20 percent off when you spend $75 or more on clothing, shoes or accessories. The sale excludes clearance. Plus, get free shipping when you spend $50. The two-day sale is good June 21 and June 22.
Gap: Get 20 percent off at the store’s “Shop Sunny” sale. Enter the code “GAPGIFT” at checkout for the discount. The sale runs June 21-June 24.
Our picks: We’re loving the tropical punch coral hues that are on T-shirts, maxi dresses, cardigans and scarves. Our fave? This multi-stripe dress for $49.99 that just looks like the summer solstice sunset melted into dress form.
J.Crew: Get 25 percent off your purchase at J.Crew or save 30 percent when you open up a credit card with the store. The sale runs through June 24.
Our picks: We’re going bananas for this banana-and-palm printed tank top in vibrant colors for $45 and this navy T-shirt with a miniature anchor on the pocket, also for $45.
Banana Republic: The store is having a “celebrate the solstice” sale. Women’s and men’s clothes are up to 50 percent off. (If you do hit up the mall, you can get an extra 30 percent of sale items).
Our pick: A lemon drop silk top that gives a summer splash to a classic black and white outfit.
Charlotte Russe: Free shipping today — June 21 — only. But, come back for “happy hour” on June 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. Eastern Time for $12 tank tops, crop tops and T-shirts.
Our pick: An online-only black and white pump with an ankle strap for $28.50.
