Sweet Southern Wife dishes on being a newlywed, fashion and food
Jennifer Gilbreath is the Sweet Southern Wife. Her blog is fun, girly and, of course, sweet. From her family adventures to nail-polish endeavors, her blog has just enough Southern charm to make us visit regularly. Meet Jennifer …
Where I’m based: I’m based in a small southern town right in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in Western, North Carolina.
How long I’ve been blogging: I’ve been blogging for about two years, but I’ve been serious about it for about a year.
Blog/business basics: My blog is a little bit of everything from living in the south, adjusting to life as a new wife, to fashion, food and beauty.
What do you enjoy most about blogging? The thing I love most about blogging is the amazing women I meet. Some I have even grown quite close to. It’s like a sisterhood of bloggers who are there for you when you need them. If I write a post about a bad day I’m having, I get a ton of support. It’s a great feeling to know that these women whom you have never met in person, actually care about you. Blogging has opened up so many doors for me, many of which I never thought would happen. It’s become a big part of my life.
Other blogs I love: One of my all-time favorites is Grace for Gayle. Her blog is amazing! And she is one of the sweetest people I know. Another one of my favorites is Don’t Quote the Raven. She is hilarious. And I can’t leave out The Small Things Blog. Her blog is actually the reason why I started mine.
Guilty pleasure: I’m addicted to reality TV and cheesy Lifetime movies. It’s pretty bad, and my absolute favorite reality show is Teen Mom. It drives my husband nuts!
Last thing I bought: The last thing I bought was a new dress from TJ Maxx. Actually I bought about three dresses, and a new shirt. I have a little bit of a shopping addiction.
What beauty product can you not live without? My Bare Minerals Correcting Concealer. It’s the absolute best thing ever! And their tinted moisturizer is pretty good too.
Whose your favorite celebrity? Jessica Simpson, if I could meet her I would probably faint. No, seriously — I love her! I have every season of Newlyweds on DVD (which I still watch sometimes) and I stalk her on twitter. Maybe she will read this and come visit North Carolina one day.
Tell us how you feel about the Blue Devils… Ha-ha! I am not a Duke fan. I am a Tarheel girl all the way. Carolina blue is my favorite color, next to pink of course.
