Tips for flying to Brazil for this month’s World Cup
By Aimee Heckel
Can you hear the crowds screaming from Brazil? It’s almost World Cup time.
Whether you are a soccer fanatic or not, the World Cup is one of the most exciting sports events in the world, and it’s in beautiful Brazil this year. Call it a good excuse to go to Brazil, or maybe a good excuse to go to the World Cup. Whatever you call it, it’s not too late to plan a late-minute excursion to the big game.
But be smart about your travel. Educate yourself about the areas (and stay in the safe regions), plan contingency plans in case something falls through and read up on the U.S. Department of State’s recommendations for safe travel to Brazil during the World Cup.
Also, know what you’re getting into. Brazil has had some glitches in the World Cup planning — enough to even warrant their own hashtag: #worldcuppanic
